A total of 16 Charles City Middle School vocalists got the chance to experience what vocal contests are like Thursday afternoon at the first-ever 8th-grade vocal solo festival at the CCHS choir room.
The students performed in front of friends and family members and were each critiqued by a judge. The singers were accompanied by Chris Cleveland on piano, and spent a month preparing for the festival.
