Quilts featured at CCAC in October

Wyona Stewart stands next to the large quilt she created, which will be one of many quilts on display for the month of October at the Charles City Arts Center. The display is entitled “Quilts For All Seasons,” and it features the quilting work of the Patchwork Pals Quilt Guild in Charles City. Patchwork Pals, currently 38 members strong, is traditionally featured at the CCAC every other October. Local Patchwork Pals members who will have their work featured include Joyce Laffe, Connie Rasmussen. Collette Schmidtke, Joyce Wood, Kay Young, Sue Heibrick, Sharon Schneider and Stewart, among others. There will be a reception for the quilters starting at 5 p.m. on Friday at the CCAC. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served, as well as some homemade treats brought in by the guild members. (Press photo James Grob.)
