Ambassadors welcome new manager for CC Hy-Vee

To the Press

The Charles City Chamber Ambassadors made a visit to Hy-Vee in October to welcome new manager Ryan Parker.

Even though he grew up mainly in the Cedar Rapids area, Parker has a special connection to Charles City and its Hy-Vee store. His parents, Jeanie and Jerry Parker, met there in 1973 where they both worked at the time. Ryan still has family in the Charles City area as well and fondly recalls his summer visits as a child to his grandparents’ (Jerry and Maxine Parker) farm.

Ryan is a Hy-Vee veteran, having worked for the company in Des Moines, Sioux City, South Sioux City, Cedar Rapids and Marion before taking over in Charles City this past August. He oversees 80 full-time and approximately 250 part-time employees at work. Outside of work he and his wife are raising their four children, including a 2-year old and 4-year-old triplets.

Among the “subtle changes” Parker has planned for the store are the painting the entryway and addition of a big bulletin board, as well as rearranging the back of aisles to have space for pallet drop specials. He also noted the store now offers online ordering and curbside pick-up or even delivery service.

To learn more about Parker, stop in at 900 Kelly St. or call the store at (641) 228-1726.
