Public events scheduled in the Charles City Area

Wednesday, Nov. 13

Floyd County Law Enforcement Center project groundbreaking, 10 a.m. at the construction site west of the courthouse.

Friday, Nov. 15

Wine Pairing for a Cause fundraiser for the Floyd County Fairgrounds tornado recovery, 7 to 10 p.m. at the Youth Enrichment Center at the fairgrounds. CC Game Jam from 10-11 p.m. at Public Library Zastrow room. Board games and video games for all ages; includes snacks and prizes; no entry fee but donations accepted.

Charles City Festival of Trees will begin at Otto’s Oasis. Vote for trees decorated by area non-profit organizations by making a donation to your favorite, through Dec. 28

Charles City Senior Center, 11 a.m. program by Patchwork Pals Quilt Club.

Fill A Truck With Toys, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Theisens in Charles City.

First Congregational Church Cookie Walk, 9-11 a.m. at the corner of N. Jackson and Ferguson Streets, Charles City.



Community congregate meal lunches are held at the Charles City Senior Center.


The Charles City Rotary Club meets at noon at the Elks Lodge. After lunch a program is presented by a speaker on a local or other topic. To be a guest contact a Rotary Club member or come to be greeted at the door.


Tuck In Tuesday at the Charles City Public Library, 6-7 p.m. in the Children’s Room.

Public Bingo at the Charles City Senior Center, 6:30 p.m.


Charles City Farmers Market, 3:30-6 p.m. in Central Park.


TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets at 8:30 a.m. at Bethany Alliance Church, 1100 Clinton St., Charles City. Visitors welcome.

SO FAR (Sober For A Reason), an organization dedicated to ending drug abuse and providing help for drug abusers and their families, meets at 7 p.m. at Dave’s Restaurant in Charles City.

Charles City Senior Center Country Classic Jam Session, 6:30-8:30 p.m., every third Thursday of the month.


Story Time at the Charles City Public Library, 10:15 a.m. in the Children’s Room.
