Party in the Park this Friday Night

Charles City’s 2016 Party in the Park series is in full swing with the next party set for Friday, June 24, in Central Park from 5-9 p.m.

Friday’s Party in the Park will have food by Black Dog BBQ, Charles City Rotary Club, Dave’s Restaurant, Hy-Vee, Kim’s Cupcakery, and Shaved Ice LCC.  For the kids in the crowd, several children’s activities are planned, including pedal car races, carnival games, mini golf, face painting, bean bag toss, and more.

Out of Waverly, Cedar Falls and Dysart, the band Redline is our musical entertainment for the evening. Specializing in 80’s rock, they will be sure will get the crowd going.

There is no admission charge. Food and beverages are available for purchase throughout the evening with Party in the Park’s “Chuck Chip” currency. This year’s orange Chuck Chips are being sponsored by L & J Industries, Inc. Chuck Chips may be obtained from the “Chuck Chip Table” near the center of the park or from volunteers in red Chuck aprons stationed throughout the park during the events. Chuck Chips are also available at the Community Development Office at 401 N. Main Street, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Past year’s Chuck Chips will not be accepted.

Other 2016 Party in the Park events will be held on July 15 & 29, and August 12. Events are held from 5-9 p.m. in Central Park. This week’s Party in the Park is Contributor Night. Our Contributors are Cedar Valley Orthodontics, Dairy Queen, Family Community Credit Union, Feller & Associates, Kronlage & Olson, PC., Lessin Supply Co., Perry Novak Electric, Shankland Insurance, Special Medical Services Corporation and The Optometric Center. Our in-kind Contributors are Cedar River Signs & Designs,Inc., Jendro Sanitation and KCHA Radio.

The Party in the Park events are a function of Community Revitalization of Charles City.
