SENATOR ROB HOGG VISITS CC

State Senator Rob Hogg stopped by a Floyd County wind farm and Valero ethanol plant on Thursday as part of a state-wide tour to promote Iowa solutions for climate change. Hogg visited Bill Fluhrer’s wind farm in an effort to learn more about the challenges and progress of renewable fuel in the state, he said. “We have all kinds of solutions that work, and many of them are already working in Iowa,” Hogg said. “The environmental performance from our renewable industries continues to improve, and it continues to get better than oil.” Hogg’s statewide tour also included stops at Luther College in Decorah, which hosts the largest solar installation facility in the state, a stop at the new energy-efficient Van Meter, Inc. facility in Carroll, and visited Iowa State University’s biorenewable research into pyrolisis, designed to help soil hold in carbon for crop benefits.
