Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa gives $10K for Floyd County Youth Enrichment Building

On Nov. 6, at its Celebration of Community event in Cedar Falls, the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa awarded a $10,000 grant to the Floyd County Fair Society for the Floyd County Youth Enrichment Center project.

“We are excited and appreciative to receive this grant from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa,” said Chuck Staudt, Youth Enrichment Center steering committee chair. “The Floyd County Youth Enrichment Center will be a lasting legacy that will benefit our area youth today and well into the future. Substantial gifts such as this grant help us to keep the project moving forward and get us closer to our goal of enhancing opportunities for the youth and citizens of Floyd County.”

The new multi-use facility will be a place for education and entertainment targeting youth, and will meet the need for an event venue for the citizens of Floyd County and surrounding areas. The Youth Enrichment Center will also be used during the Floyd County Fair as an Exhibit Hall to house all non-livestock projects and FFA farm equipment.

“We are honored to partner with the Floyd County Fair Society and be part of fulfilling their vision of building a space specifically with the youth of Floyd County in mind,” said Kaye Englin, Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa president and CEO. “We are proud to serve Floyd County and be a partner in creating stronger, healthier and more vibrant communities across 19 counties in Iowa.”

This grant is one of ten $10,000 grants awarded to nonprofit projects in counties where the Foundation partners with one of its 24 affiliate community foundations.

These grants coincide with the 10-year anniversary of the organization’s affiliate partner structure.

The Floyd County Community Foundation is an affiliate of of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.

“We are excited the Floyd County Fair Society has been awarded this grant,” said Patty Staudt, committee chair of the Floyd County Community Foundation. “The partnership between the Floyd County Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa is powerful and allows us to do even more good in our local communities, forever.”
