Swimmers looking to begin enjoying the Lions Field Pool may get their first chance this season on Monday, Memorial Day, but the schedule will be sporadic to begin with, and the weather could change plans.

The pool is scheduled to open at 1 p.m. Monday, May 27, but will be closed Tuesday through Friday because school is still in session.

The current forecast for Memorial Day is for highs in the mid-70s, but a chance of rain or thunderstorms.

The pool will be open again for the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, but will be closed again Monday through Thursday, June 3-6, for the last days of school this school year.

The pool will open for its regular days and hours on Friday, June 7.

General swim hours are 1 to 7 p.m. daily. Family night is 5:30 to 7 on Sundays, and youth innertube night is 5:30 to 7 on Thursdays.

Season ticket prices this year are $140 plus sales tax for a household, or $149.80 total. A household includes everyone living at the same residence, and includes babysitter and grandparents, up to a total of six persons. An additional $25 per person is required for more than six.

Individual season passes are $60 plus tax, $64.20 total.

Daily admission price is $4.50 for adults; $4 for juniors, age 6-18; and $2 for children, age 5 and under, sales tax included. A punch ticket for 10 punches is $35. Children age 8 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 15 years old.

The pool may close early on days of inclement weather, or where the water or air temperatures are below 72 degrees. The public pool phone number for questions or emergencies is 641-257-1188.
