CCAC hosts second poetry night
Just a handful of local poets and lovers of prose showed up on Wednesday at the Charles City Arts Center for the second Charles City poetry night.
The evening is for individuals of all ages to read their own poetry, the poetry of a favorite writer, or any other prose they feel needed to be heard. A wide variety of poetry styles are shared by both seasoned scribes and rookie writers.
Nearly 20 patrons of prose joined the first literary get-together in May. Charles City’s Erik Gordon moderated both events, and said that the group intends to meet on the second Wednesday of every month from now on. The next event will be Wednesday, July 10, starting at 7 p.m. at the CCAC.
