Party in the Park was rockin’ on Friday night in Charles City.
Hot rods, plenty of cool refreshments and the classic tunes of Endless Summer made for an enjoyable evening for many who attended the Community Revitalization event.
Retro Night was the theme for the penultimate Party in the Park that featured several vintage cars parked along Kelly Street, south of Central Park.
The weather was California cool on Friday as temps stayed in the 70s with a sunny sky shining down on the park that saw many people relaxing and having a good time in their lawn chairs.
There were many food options from the vendors sprinkled all over the park. Kids could play many games, including a Junior Firefighter Challenge courtesy of the Floyd Fire Department.
Folks will have one more chance to attend Party in the Park – which is in its 17th season of entertaining folks in Charles City.
The last Party in the Park of the season will be this coming Friday from 5-9 p.m. This is a makeup date from June 21, which was rained out.
It will be Country Night and the band up on stage will be Wild Card. This final installment will be the last chance for anyone to use any remaining “Chuck Chip” tokens from this year as well.
