There was a Thanksgiving theme to Kids Day at the Floyd County Historical Museum on Saturday.

The museum hosts children’s days on the first Saturday of the month through the fall and winter. The museum has been hosting regular children’s days since 2003. Crafts, storytelling, scavenger hunts, games and snacks, among other things, are usually on the agenda.

Saturday, the children participated in a Thanksgiving-themed craft, heard a story in the log cabin, visited Legal Drug Store for some shopping, took part in a corn-kernel relay race and had some snacks.

The next Kids Day will be Dec. 7. Anyone interested in participating can call 228-1099 to register a child in grades 1-3. Kids days are free for museum members and $2 for non-members. The goal is to get kids interested in the museum.
