The North Iowa Marine Corps League is again collecting toys throughout the area for its annual Toys for Tots campaign to help assure there is something special awaiting every child on Christmas.

Families that are interested in receiving toys for their children can sign up next week at several Floyd County locations. The schedule is:

Charles City — Monday, Nov. 18, 9 a.m. to noon; Tuesday, Nov. 19, noon to 3 p.m.; and Wednesday, Nov. 20, 5 to 8 p.m.; at the NIACC Center, 200 Harwood Drive.

Nora Springs — Monday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nora Springs City Hall.

Rockford — Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rockford City Hall.

Marble Rock — Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the library.

People can sign up at any of the sign-up times or locations, but these signups are for Floyd County residents only.

Detachment No. 859 of the North Iowa Marine Corps League already has its collection boxes for new, unwrapped toys in businesses throughout the area, including at the Press.

The League also will be filling trucks with toys from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, in the Theisen’s parking lot, with trucks loaned by Mike Molstead Motors.

People are urged to stop by that day to donate toys to help fill the trucks, and League members will also accept cash donations to buy toys.

Last year almost 300 families signed up for toys in Floyd County.
