A senior citizen from Nashua died Tuesday as a result of an ATV rollover accident.

A report by the Iowa State Patrol says that Larry Moine, age 77, was in the C&N Railroad right-of-way igniting grass fires on his adjacent property a little before 3 p.m. Tuesday.

As he attempted to drive back onto his property along a steep embankment, the ATV he was driving rolled onto him, causing fatal injuries, the report said.

The accident occured in the 2900 block of Asherton Avenue, about 1¾ miles south of Nashua.

He was transported by Chickasaw Rescue to the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City where he was pronounced dead.
The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Nashua Police and the Nashua Fire Department, Chickasaw County Sheriff and Rescue Squad, the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Transportation.
