Four vehicles were involved in an accident Tuesday afternoon at the main Avenue of the Saints intersection in Floyd. One person was transported to the hospital where she was treated and released.

According to a report by the Iowa State Patrol, Jill Ehrhardt, 52, of Northwood, driving a 2018 Ford Edge, was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. Highway 218 and U.S. Highway 18.

Ehrhardt went south through the intersection and was struck on the driver’s side by Kyle Trytten, 37, driving a 2008 GMC pickup.

Trytten’s vehicle entered the north lane of Highway 18, striking a 2016 Jeep Renegade driven by Janea Lavigne, 64, of Charles City, who was stopped at a stop sign.

Lavigne’s vehicle was pushed backwards into a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Wayne Nolt, 61, of Charles City.

All four vehicles came to rest on the roadway, blocking the travel lanes, the State Patrol report said.

One person was listed as injured. Angela Connerley, 45, of Floyd, was transported by AMR ambulance to Floyd County Medical Center. She had been a passenger in Nolt’s vehicle. The medical center said she was treated and released.

A State Patrol spokesman at the District 8 post in Mason City said Ehrhardt was charged with failure to yield upon entering a through highway.

Assisting the State Patrol at the scene were the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Floyd Fire and Rescue, AMR ambulance, Colwell Fire and the Floyd County First Responders.
