Food distribution at Charles City High School parking lot Wednesday evening

To The Press

Northeast Iowa Food Bank of Waterloo will be at the Charles City High School parking lot from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, for a food distribution.

The Rev. Debi Lincoln, who runs the Messiah’s Food Pantry in Charles City, asked people to observe the following guidelines:

  • Line up along Salsbury Avenue, entering either from Clark Street or 1st Avenue.
  • No more than two households per car.
  • Must have picture ID.
  • Pull up at end of line,
  • Open your trunk, and please have it cleaned out and ready to receive food boxes.

“And then patience, patience, patience,” Lincoln said. “Be kind to the volunteers, they are there to help.”

The county is off emergency status so food recipients must qualify by government income guidelines, and recipients will be asked for income information during check-in, Lincoln said.

Deliveries are available for the elderly and the sick, and the recipient must be home to receive the delivery. For more information on this service call Debi Lincoln at 641-257-1119.
