Joshua Knutson

Joshua D. Knutson, age 40, has been charged with four Class B felony counts of sexual abuse in the second degree, for allegedly committing sexual abuse on a person under the age of 12, in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

He is also charged with another sexually related charge, a Class D felony.

All the charges are alleged to have occurred in Charles City, according to the criminal complaints filed in Floyd County District Court by the Charles City Police Department.

Knutson was arrested earlier this month at the Butler County Jail. He is currently being held under $120,000 cash bond in the Floyd County Jail.

Arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 26 in Floyd County District Court, although often a defendant files a written arraignment instead of making an appearance in court.

A Class B felony is punishable upon conviction by an indeterminate term in prison of up to 25 years. A Class D felony is punishable upon conviction by an indeterminate term in prison of up to 5 years, plus fines of $750 to $7,500 and other fees, costs and surcharges.
