According to a recent article in the online publication, “Recycling Today,” LJP Waste Solutions, a provider of waste hauling and processing services in Mankato, Minnesota, recently announced that it has acquired Jendro Sanitation.

Details of the acquisition were not available to the Press. Alan Powell, president at Jendro, said on Thursday afternoon that he could not comment at this time.

Based in Charles City, Jendro Sanitation is a garbage and recycling collection company that covers Floyd, Mitchell, Chickasaw, and the northern half of Butler county. The company provides services to cities, businesses, contractors and for residential use, and has been in business for nearly 40 years.

LJP Waste Solutions is a portfolio company of New York-based Aperion Management. The online article states that funding for the Jendro Sanitation acquisition was provided by Dallas-based Comerica Bank.

According to the article, LHP said that the acquisition of Jendro will allow the company to expand its service footprint to a new geographical service area. LHP stated that the Jendro Sanitation team of 23 employees will join the LJP team of 110 existing employees as part of the acquisition.

The acquisition came on the heels of LJP announcing on June 24 it had acquired The Trash Man, a provider of commercial and residential waste services in north-central Iowa.

“Jendro represents the second acquisition we have completed in Iowa in as many weeks,” Steve Metz, CEO of LJP, told Recycling Today. “We continue to seek strategic add-ons for LJP which will complement our existing platform and provide new areas for organic growth and tuck-in acquisitions.”
