‘BAC blessing bag’: Free pork loin meal

Bethany Alliance Church is giving out a free meal to the community. The “BAC’s Blessing Bag” event is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Bethany Alliance Church, Lantern Park Apartments and Casa Apartments.

The meal will include a pork loin sandwich, fruit, veggies and chips. Each meal will be put in its own lunch bag and distributed by volunteers to individuals and families, according to information from the church.

Meals can be picked up drive-thru style in BAC’s parking lot by entering the lot on Clinton Street and exiting through 8th Street. Meals will also be delivered to the Casa and Lantern Park Apartments that day.

There is no need to call ahead, the church said. Community members can simply pull up to their preferred pickup location and tel BAC volunteers how many meals they would like.

“Attendees should be sure to mention if they have a graduate in their household for an extra special gift,” the church announcement said.

“Bethany Alliance Church knows what a tough time we are living through,” the church said. “This is one of the ways the church is helping meet the needs of the people of our community. The church desires to bless the community and remind every person that Jesus cares.”
