Marble Rock welcomes back old soda fountain
The Marble Rock Historical Society is holding an Independence Day event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday to welcome back the historic soda fountain to Bopp Drug Store.
Root beer floats will be served from the fountain, which is now back where it stood 43 years ago before being sold at an auction.
The fountain traveled to various places around the country before being donated back to the Marble Rock Historical Society in 2009.
The historical society also will have three new displays for the public to view during Saturday’s event: one on the bank and post office, another on a millinery store, and the third with information about Aureola.
The four other museum buildings also will be open on Saturday. Admission is free.
