Steven ‘Steve’ Sadler

Steven “Steve” Sadler, 61, of Charles City, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A private family graveside service for Steve Sadler will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City on Friday, Nov. 13.

A visitation for Steve Sadler will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 at Hauser Funeral Home.

Steven Roy Sadler, the son of Eldon and Sharon (Reetz) Sadler, was born May 21, 1954 in Charles City. He attended school in Charles City and served in the U.S. Army. Steve was stationed in Germany and after his discharge he made his home in Chicago, Ill. He spent his life working at painting cathedrals and roofing them as well. Steve also enjoyed leatherwork. He loved to read and there wasn’t a Western he hadn’t read or seen.

Steve was a free spirited man who loved to live life on the edge. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed visits from his many nieces and nephews.

Living family members include his daughter, Tiffany Leigh Lardino of Dyersburg, Tenn.; granddaughter, KarenLynn; sister, Terri (Bob) Franzen of Charles City and their children: Dorinda, Bobbi Jo (Jack), Douglas (Cyndi) and Jason (Robyn); brother, Douglas Sadler (significant other Yolynn) and his children: Maggie, Jeremiah, Sharon, Chloe and Elijah; a host of great nieces and nephews; one great-great niece and one great-great nephew; and his aunt, Barbara (Duane) Boggess of Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
