Michael Damjanovic

Michael Damjanovic, 63, of Charles City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

According to Michael’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held by the family on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at the VFW in Charles City from 1-4 p.m. Michael Mark Damjanovic, the son of Milan and Mary (Baron) Damjanovic, was born May 8, 1952 in Charles City. He attended school in Charles City graduating from Charles City High School in 1971. Michael enlisted in the Army and served his country as a medic in Germany for 18 months. After his honorable discharge, Michael worked at Salsbury Laboratories in Charles City for a short time before beginning his career as a truck driver. He drove for many companies, but the longest he drove was for Paul Kuhn Co. He enjoyed figure 8 racing, hunting (especially deer), fishing and playing cards (especially euchre). Michael was devoted to his family and friends and had a big heart for helping others.

Living family members include his four children: Joe Schoenfeldt of Charles City, Lucas (Amanda) Damjanovic of Charles City, Jerad Damjanovic of Charles City and Paul (Brittany) Damjanovic of Cresco; three granddaughters: Emma Damjanovic, Ella Damjanovic and Paige Dolphin; three brothers: Steve Damjanovic of Charles City, Dan Damjanovic of Charles City and Alan (Karen) Damjanovic of Orchard; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
