Wilma Bigelow Crandall

Wilma Bigelow Crandall died March 25, 2016, at her home at the age of 91.

She was born July 16, 1924 near Bassett, the daughter of Ernest and Huldah (Case) Bigelow. She attended the Bassett School through 8th grade and graduated from Nashua High School in 1942. On July 4, 1944, she was united in marriage to Ralph Crandall in Ionia.

They eventually settled in the Charles City/ Colwell area.

Her interestes included fishing, bowling, playing cards, following Charles City softball games, and spending time with family and friends. We will miss the “Mother Blinds” when playing 500.

Living family members include four children: David (Jean) Crandall of Ionia, Cheryl Lair of Charles City, Leanne (David) Leeper of Cedar Rapids, and Terri (Bob) Snyder of Charles City; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Taylor; and sisterin- laws Marilou Dautant, Phyllis (Richard) Gabel, and Marie, Marilyn and Gloria Bigelow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph in 2007; a son, Roger, in 1973; son-in-law John Lair in 2012; brothers Allen, Bert, Robert, Stanley, Donald and Harold Bigelow; a sister, Anna (Raye) Usher; sisters-in-law Julia Neal, Merle, Marquez, Mo and Mary Crandall, and Ineta and Emma Bigelow; five brothers-in-law Charles, Jim, Don, Larry and Robert Crandall, Bill Neal, Anibal Dautant and Jesus Marquez.

As per her wishes, there will be no service.
