Robert (Bob) Fenholt

Robert (Bob) Fenholt, a native of Charles City, passed away peacefully at his home in Columbus, Ohio, on June 5, 2016, at the age of 91.

Bob was born on April 13, 1925. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1943. After qualifying on a competitive exam, he was accepted into the Navy V-12 officer training program at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. There he met his future wife, Janet Smyser, whom he married in 1945. He served in the Pacific Theater, finishing his service as an ensign. After the war, he returned to Miami University and graduated with a BA in Economics.

Through most of his business career, Bob was a bank officer; late in his career, he worked for the State of Ohio Department of Insurance.

Bob is survived by his wife, Janet, and four children: Nancy, Jeff, Tom and Mindy; as well as his brother, William (Doris) Fenholt of Charles City. He is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Lee Fenholt of Charles City.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, in Delaware, Ohio. The family requests no memorials or flowers; however, your kind thoughts and memories of Bob are deeply appreciated.
