White, Justin-newspaper3Justin R. White, 36, of Floyd, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at home.

A funeral service for Justin White will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at The Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd with Pastor Patty Kellogg officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Wednesday.

Justin Robert White, the son of Robert and Edna (Clay) White, was born June 28, 1980, in Charles City, Iowa.  He received is education in Charles City and worked several jobs throughout the area.  Justin worked in Cresco, at Curries Manufacturing in Mason City for several years, Sherman’s Nursery in Charles City and with his brother Adam for the last seven years at American Titan Roofing in Charles City. He was united in marriage to Christy Moore and this union was blessed with a daughter, Tia Lynn White. The couple later divorced. Justin was also blessed with another daughter several years later, Haley Jo White.

Justin was a man of many interests. He loved woodworking, camping, hunting, fishing and playing frisbee golf (basically anything outdoors). Justin was always ready to give advice and lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He started a band with family and friends that didn’t quite take off, but it went hand-in-hand with his love for writing, playing, teaching and listening to music. Justin was very artistic and liked performing and entertaining whenever possible. Most of all, Justin loved his family and friends very much.

Living family members include his parents, Robert and Edna White of Floyd; two daughters: Tia Lynn White of Cresco and Haley Jo White of Charles City; two brothers:  Aaron (Faith-Ann) White of Charles City and Adam (Audrey) White of Charles City; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends (including his best friend, Matthew Christensen); and his beloved companion guitar, Angel.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Doris and Clair Clay, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Bernice and Robert White; and treasured friend, Jeff Obermeier.
