Lenore ‘Beanie’ Knutson

Lenore “Beanie” Knutson, 94, formerly of Charles City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

A graveside service for Lenore will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City with Pastor Jim Beranek from Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City officiating.

Beanie was born in Pittsville, Wis. and moved when she was three to the rural Charles City area. She attended country school in rural Charles City and graduated from Charles City High School in 1940. She married Paul “Snizz” Knutson, also of Charles City. Beanie enjoyed working in payroll at Salisbury Laboratories early in her life, and then retired to be a full time homemaker. She enjoyed working on her class reunion committee and planning the reunions. She loved cats and dogs. She was a loyal friend, having many life-long friendships and keeping up an active correspondence with many friends in other states.

Beanie is survived by her daughter: Jolene (Jim) Walker of Kalona, and grandchildren: Casey (Greenville, Tenn.), Kara (New York City, N.Y.), Luke (Chicago, Ill.), Samuel (New York City, N.Y.), and Judah (Iowa City).

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Snizz;and her daughter Pam.
