Anna Marie (Zubrod) Marvin was born Aug. 24, 1922 to John and Margaret (Gebel) Zubrod in Chickasaw County. She attended North Washington School in Chickasaw County until the 8th grade. Anna then worked at Oliver Farm Equipment for 13 years. On April 22, 1957, Anna married Clarence L. Marvin in Charles City. To this union, three children were born: Clarence, John and Larry. After leaving Oliver Farm Equipment, Anna farmed alongside her husband Clarence near Alta Vista. Anna was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Nashua and an honorary member of St. Bernadette’s Circle of St. Michael’s Guild. She was a fiercely competitive card player and spent many hours playing cards at the Senior Center. Anna enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning and cooking, all of which she did very well. More than anything else, Anna loved spending time with her family.
