Joseph ‘Joe’ Erb

Joseph 'Joe' ErbJoseph ‘Joe’ Erb, 43, passed away peacefully of natural causes in Bellingham, Washington after a brief illness. His life ended in a beautiful hospice setting with his being able to share his last days in close contact with family and friends.

From a very young age, Joe was always one to push the limits, which garnered many famous “Joe” stories, not all of which totally reassured his parents. Along with the stories there were many laughs as Joe was gifted with a wicked sense of humor and a strong dose of humility. He touched many people by bringing a smile to their face and brightening their days with disarming charm.
Throughout his lifetime, Joe’s heart was always in the right place. He was a challenging thinker who engaged those around him with wide ranging issues of the day. He was very loyal to his family and friends and put others first before himself. Joe was a no nonsense person who desired peace and contentment for all. His survivors hope you will remember him by helping to put those values in place.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Ackermann Erb, and uncle, Anthony Ackermann.

Joe is survived by his father, James (Jim) Erb, and step-mother, Cheryl Erb, his brother Paul Erb and wife Michele Marut Erb, and his sister Elizabeth Erb Firmstone; uncles, Karl (Gladys) Ackermann and Fred (Paula) Ackermann; aunt Monica Ackermann; and nephews Lucas, Maxwell and Charles Firmstone.
