Maxine Vetter

Maxine Vetter, 82, passed away Oct. 4, 2019.

At Maxine’s request there will be no funeral. A private graveside service and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Maxine Virginia (Vietor) Vetter was born March 22, 1937, the daughter of Fred and Rosa (Gifford) Vietor. She was the youngest of four children. She graduated from Charles City High School. Maxine and Ernest Vetter were united in marriage on Feb. 2, 1958. To this union three children were born.

Maxine worked at Red Owl, Trowbridge’s, Ray’s Pizza, Brook’s Restaurant, Sherman Nursery, Floyd County Hospital, Comprehensive Systems as well as helping on the farm and driving truck for Vetter Trucking.

Maxine is survived by three children: Barbara (John) Dotson, Jerry (Georgena) Vetter and William (Tami) Vetter all of Charles City. She was the proud grandmother of three grandsons: James Dotson, Matt Vetter and Garrett Vetter and great-grandmother to Garrett William Vetter, Jr. She is also survived by her special friend, Ed Frein and her dog, Fluffy.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 2004; her parents; brothers: Carlyle and Marvin Vietor; and a sister, Evelyn Drenth.
