Lawrence “Larry” Hayden, 67, of Charles City, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

According to Larry’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services.
Larry, the son of Merle and Lorraine (Stapleton) Hayden, was born September 30, 1952 in Cresco, Iowa. He graduated from high school and joined the United States Navy. Larry proudly served his country during the Vietnam War on the USS Ranger Aircraft Carrier.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Larry began a long career in road construction. He had most recently been employed by the Target Corporation and this is where he retired from as well.

Larry was a member of the VFW in Charles City and was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Larry’s family would like to give a special thank you to his neighbors Chris and David Bauer and good friend Lyle Usher for everything you have done for Larry over the years and to the staff at Floyd County Medical Center for the wonderful care and compassion given to Larry.

Living family members include his brother, Bill Hayden of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; two sisters: Sandra Kostka of Springdale, Arkansas and Trish (Tommy) Brown of Newport, North Carolina; and his nephew, Cole Hayden.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Charles City VFW.
