Richard D. Jones

Richard D. “Dick” Jones, 91, of Sullivan, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2020, at Mason Point in Sullivan.

Private family services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan, with John Plummer officiating.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life services will be held later in the summer. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Dick was born June 15, 1928, in Springfield, the son of Franklin A. and Lillian G. Drennan Jones. He had been the transportation manager for CIPS and the Oliver Tractor Company, and had served as the Sullivan Township Assessor. Dick was a member of the Sullivan First United Methodist Church and the George A. Sentel Masonic Lodge No. 764 AF and AM in Sullivan.

He married Barbara Lee Twenty on August 19, 1950, in Bethany, and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2014.

Surviving are his sons Rick L. (Kris) Jones of Ozark, Missouri, Randy K. (Angela) Jones of Charles City, Iowa, Ted A. Jones of Decatur and Todd A. (J.C.) Jones of Washington, Illinois; grandchildren Brooke, Stephanie, Kelly, Emily, Miranda, Ike and Ali and eighteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Judy and granddaughter Katie.
