Darlene M. (Fisher) Greenman

Darlene M. (Fisher) Greenman, 82, of Floyd, Iowa was called home by her loving Heavenly Father on Friday, July 24, 2020.

A graveside service for Darlene Greenman will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Iowa. Pastor Paul Phillips from The Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd will officiate.

Darlene M. Greenman was born July 10, 1938 to parents Ludwig and Elsa Fisher in Charles City, Iowa. Darlene graduated from Charles City High School in 1957. She married Charles Greenman in September of 1962 at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City, Iowa.

Charles and Darlene made their home in Rockford their first year and then Corona, California for five years. They moved back to Rockford in 1968 until 1977. They then built a new house north of Charles City on the Fisher Farm and lived there until 1992 when they moved to Floyd, Iowa.

Darlene worked during her high school years at the Charles Theatre and also for Dr. Salsbury’s office in Charles City. She later worked in Cedar Rapids as a key punch operator at Collin’s Radio. Later, Darlene worked at Dean Jewelers as a jeweler for approximately 20 years. She enjoyed engraving, stringing pearls and interacting with the customers while at Dean Jewelers.

Darlene enjoyed doing puzzles, watching movies, reading books and talking with her friends and family. She loved to be on Facebook as it kept her in touch with everyone. She enjoyed going to the Gospel Tea Parties. There were a lot of special memories made there.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters: Doraine (James) Gleason of Clarksville, Iowa and Sheryl (Tim) Linde of Chehalis, Washington; four grandchildren: Megan, Samuel, Angel and Anthony; one sister, Geraldine Spurbeck; sister-in-law, Rita Hollingsworth of San Antonio, Texas; and brother-in-law, Robert (Kate) Greenman of Olympia, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Russell, Walter and Larry; and sister, Helen Whitney of Denver, Colorado.
