Henry Vallebo, Sr.

Henry Vallebo, Sr., 76, of Charles City, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

A celebration of Henry’s life will be held at a later date.

Henry Dugenia Vallebo, Sr., the son of Vivencio and Esperanza (Difunturum) Vallebo, was born on July 20, 1944 in Manila, Philippines. He was united in marriage to Mercedes Pimentel on Oct. 25, 1967 in the Philippines.

Henry worked for a chicken factory, Sherman Nursery, Fox River Mills, PAWS Humane Society, and Sparboe Foods. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Henry enjoyed his time playing mahjong and playing cards and casino games on his Kindle Fire. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially Ivan.

Living family members include his wife Mercedes; children: Sheila Suyat, Henry, Jr. (Vivian) Vallebo, Ian (Alex) Vallebo, and Joy (Alan) Vallebo; grandchildren: Xean, Sheila Andrea, Angelo, Alvin, Aileen, Reign, Ivan, Amethyst, Sid, Audrey, and Max; great-grandchildren: Julien and Careasia Summer; siblings: Cleopatra Oropesa, Cristy (Jorge) Estaris, and Hyasmin (Randy) Daclison; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dorland Allan Vallebo; son-in-law, Andy Suyat; and brother-in-law, Isagani Oropesa.
