Eunice Jung

Eunice Jung, 100, of Charles City, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021 at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A memorial service will be held at 11 p.m. at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home on Saturday, April 3, 2021 with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Eunice Lucille (Knapp) Jung, the daughter of LeRoy and Elizabeth (Campbell) Knapp, was born on Dec. 27, 1920 and graduated from Aplington High School. On March 16, 1941 she was united in marriage to Carlyle “Bud” Jung in Greene, Iowa. She worked at Peerless Photo during the war, as an operator at the telephone company in Aplington, Iowa and babysat for many years.

Eunice was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City, Birthday Club, McKinley Home Crafts and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, playing 500, raising chickens and spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren).

Living family members include her son, David Jung of Charles City; three grandchildren: Robert (Angel) Jung of Lakewood, Colorado, Crystal Boatwright of Charles City and Carrie Fiser (Pat Logan) of Charles City; nine great-grandchildren: Arebela, Vincent, Araina, Akira, Patience, Prince, Maylyn, Harper and Stephanie; along with nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carlyle “Bud” Jung on March 22, 2005; three sisters; and three brothers.
