Sharon ‘Sherry’ Mrachek-Miller

Sharon “Sherry” Mrachek-Miller, 67, of Ionia, formerly Charles City, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 5, 2021 at her home.

A funeral service for Sharon will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City with Pastor Anita Nuetzman from Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be at from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home and will continue one hour before the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Sharon Kay Mrachek-Miller, the daughter of Clarence and Evelyn (Triska) Mrachek, was born Jan. 24, 1954 in Cresco, Iowa. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1972 and was united in marriage to Randy Heise on April 28, 1973. This union was blessed with two daughters: Jolene and Janel. The couple later divorced.

Sharon was very proud that she lived on Ohio Avenue in Charles City from 1991 to 2004 in the first house that she purchased and paid off on her own. She was a member of the Elks Lodge in Charles City, loved taking pictures and was delighted with her Bohemian heritage. Sharon was proud of her children and all of her grandchildren.

Sharon worked for 28 years at the Clerk of the Court office in the Floyd County Courthouse. She took great pride in her work, and enjoyed all of the people she came into contact with through her job.

Sharon and Harold “Hal” Miller started seeing one another in 1991 and were united in marriage on Nov. 18, 2012 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple made their home east of Charles City and loved their blended family.

Sharon enjoyed staying at Highlandville in Decorah and staying in a cabin with Hal and her grandchildren. She loved looking out the back window of the cabin watching for deer, turkey or any other wildlife that might walk by. One thing Sharon awlays said was, “I may have some faults in my life, but no matter what I love my family unconditionally”.

Living family members include her husband, Hal Miller of Ionia; children: Jolene (Lyn) Goodwill of Charles City and Janel (Travis) Jones of Ionia, Erin (Jared) Nelson of Springfield, Minnesota, Callie (Chris) Bullerman of Cedar Falls and Ryan Miller of Charles City; grandchildren: Alysha, Mackenzy, Kaleb, Nicholas, Jillian, Raylin and Alexys; along with other family members and friends.

Sharon is being met in heaven by her parents; Clarence and Evelyn Mrachek; two brothers: Larry and Jerry Mrachek; sister-in-law, Carol (Mrachek) Sawyer; and nephew, Rick Mrachek.
