A special country’s brand of freedom

A special country’s brand of freedom

Veterans Day has always had a special meaning to most Americans. On this day, we honor the brave men and women who have served our country, and still have the enormous task of keeping us free.

Freedom’s march through history is a story that never ends because it is an unsatisfi able thirst in humanity’s soul. Exceptional people chose to come to America to escape the tyranny of the king’s rule. They pledged their all to set up a new government in a new land. Our Constitution which is the Bible of democracy was written by Bible-believing people who had a core belief in the teaching of fairness. The first years here in a new land tried their souls as the communal system didn’t work out well and food was in short supply. The next year each was given a piece of land to nurture and work as each saw fit for themselves and barter with others for things they needed. This experiment in this new land worked out well and they were on their way to abundance, which was a just reward for their individuality and hard work. This system called capitalism is the envy of the world and they set about writing our Constitution and Bill of Right. These people relied on the Bible and its teachings in word and verse that we must live by to have domestic tranquility as this makes up our nation’s moral code.

I remember as a young person studying history how the framers wrote a manual of freedom that has endured 238 years and is correct today as it was then.

We also have veterans that are not able to get the care they deserve in time, and they have been the guardians of our freedoms. Our soldiers and veterans have fought around the world to allow us to keep these freedoms.

So, let’s honor our veterans living and past and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in all the wars, who endured the hardships day by day, but in the end won freedoms for friend and foe alike. These are a special breed that seldom brag or complain, but set about winning freedom for people unknown to them. So we must supply the love and support to heal the broken hearts of the families of those who didn’t return and bring an enduring peace so that their sacrifice shall not have been in vain. I have great respect for the countries that have given a resting place for our fallen heroes. We could not pray them all home safely. We are blessed today to be the heirs of freedom. With God’s help, we will prevail and be that “shining city on a hill” for all the world to see, and hopefully carry the torch of freedom to the less fortunate and they will be a helpmate, to us and hopefully and eventually a safer world.

May we all have churches where we can worship God who made all this possible, that we may see him as the leader of us all and want him in our lives.

Thank you veterans! We will always believe in you and America, long after the battle ends and we thank God for you.

May God bless America again.
