Letter to the Editor – Supports Macomber in school election

By Nancy Simerson, Charles City

I have watched Robin Macomber in action on the Charles City school board for many years.

When she was first elected in 2013, Robin wanted to keep the middle school as a school. However after she was elected and had “all the facts” she changed her mind and voted to build the new middle school and never looked back.

She was re-elected in 2015 inorder to see this project through along with others.

In 2017 Robin, along with the other board members received the Better Boardmanship Award by the Iowa Association of School Boards given to members who dedicate their time to further their knowledge for better use as a member of the board.

I have attended many board meetings over the last few years. Robin has missed very few meetings. She does her research and asks lots of good questions.

You will see her at the school visiting classrooms, and talking to staff members and students about ways to improve the school.

I know that one of her goals is to get the old middle school repurposed. This project is on its way! Another is to get the new baseball and softball diamonds finished by next summer.

Robin has my vote! I am thankful she is willing to give of her time and her interest in “the Charles City experience.”
