Letter to the Editor: Putting trillions of dollars into perspective

By Paul Van Ausdall, Charles City

This is how I define one trillion dollars: Assume you were born on the day Jesus Christ was born and you spend one million dollars per day, every day, for one million days.

If you use the Julian calendar, you would have spent one trillion dollars on approximately November 6, 2737.

If you use the Gregorian calendar, you would have spent one trillion dollars on approximately November 27, 2737. WOW! That is 716 years into the future.

The U.S is about 22-23 trillion dollars in debt, and Biden wants to send another 2.2 trillion dollars? Where do you think your taxes are going from this time on?
