Former Hawkeye star returns to honor new Comet scoring leader
Former Charles City and Iowa Hawkeye star Greg Brunner waves to the crowd after presenting a plaque to Comet senior Jack Molstead, who passed Brunner last week as Charles City’s all-time leading scorer. Molstead also is the Comets’ all-time leader in assists. Not all of Brunner’s records have been broken as he remains the Hawkeyes’ all-time leading rebounder. Molstead later added to his all-time total by scoring 30 points against Waukon, but the Indians managed to force overtime after trailing for most of the game before upsetting the Comets, 76-75.
