Comet wrestlers place at Female Elite Championships
Charles City wrestlers Emma Grimm, pictured recording a takedown, and Marissa Bengtson both participated at the Female Elite Wrestling Championships this past weekend in Independence.
Facing tough competition in their respective brackets, Grimm placed first after recording three first-period falls, and Bengston finished fourth.
Both were members of the Comet girls wrestling team that placed third at the inaugural Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Girls State Championships held this past January in Waverly.
