White leads Comets in 18-hole win over Cadets

CHARLES CITY — Freshman Trevor White birdied the 5th and 18th holes at Cedar Ridge helping him secure an 18-hole medalist score of 85, which led Charles City’s boys golf team in a one-sided 350-441 victory over Crestwood on Monday.

For White, it was the second meet from which he earned medalist honors — first 18-hole meet.

Comet senior Jackson Molstead, who eagled the 9th hole, carded a runner-up score of 86 with Atticus Parrott (88) and Carter Johanningmeier (91) rounding out the scoring for Charles City.

* The Comet girls played Crestwood at Cresco GC and lost their 9-hole match 204-229. Ashley Voves’s medalist score of 47 led the Cadets.

Hope Slinger (55), Jadyn Hegtvedt (56), Brinn Larr (57) and Madison Ross (61) were carded for the Comets, who will travel with the boys to Osage on Tuesday.
