Press Staff Report
OSAGE — With temperatures finally breaching the 70s with just a smidgen of a breeze, the conditions at the Saint Ansgar Trapshooting Invitational held Saturday at the Mitchell County Trap Range were perfect.

Or near-perfect.

Three members of the New Hampton Red squad — Mitch Pickar, Tristen Schmidt and Tanner Lane — all shot 49 of 50 clays during the invite as part of a first-place team score of 238.
Osage 1, led by Chloe Goodale’s female top score of 48, was second after hitting 231 total clays.

Northwood-Kensett Blue, led by a pair of 48s from Conner Harris and Tristan Rothove, was third with 227 felled clays.

Charles City 1, led by freshman Colton Crooks’s 48, tied for fifth with Osage 2 with a 218 team score.
Charles City 2, which got a pair of 47s from Jace Landt and Daniel Laube, and a 46 from
Cael Ruzicka, hit 217 out of 250 clays.

Cooper Fisher recorded his first 25-of-25 round to cap a 46 score for Nashua-Plainfield 1, which totaled 203.
