Lilly Luft places second at Go-Hawk Girls Wrestling Invite

WAVERLY — Charles City senior Lilly Luft placed second in the 132A division at Tuesday’s Go-Hawk Girls Wrestling Invitational hosted by Waverly-Shell Rock.

Luft, a 126-pound girls state champion from last season, went 2-1 in her bracket. After recording major-decision and fall victories, Luft faced Macy Smith of WSR in the championship bout.

Smith won the bracket with a 3-1 decision.

Other Comet wrestlers who placed in their respective brackets with multiple victories include Kylie Blunt, who went 3-1 with two fall victories while placing fifth at 138; Morgan Maloy, who went 3-2 while placing sixth at 152A; Destiny Kolheim, who went 3-2 whale placing fifth at 152B; Katelyn Miller, who went 3-2 while placing seventh at 145; Kyia Roth, who went 2-2 with a pair of fall victories while placing seventh at 120A; and Jamaria Foster and Ava Thompson, who both went 2-2 in the 285 division.
