CC’s Carquest Auto Parts celebrates 30th anniversary

Store to get makeover, name change through Advance Auto Parts

To the Press

The Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently paid a visit to Carquest Auto Parts at 507 North Main St. to meet with Manager Doug McInroy and help commemorate the business’s 30th anniversary.

The long-time auto parts supplier employs four people and offers not only a wide array of vehicle parts and accessories, but the knowledge and experience on how to best use them.

“We have people you can talk to, and even with all the changing technology, this is still a people-driven business,” said McInroy.

He noted that Ambassador Larry Stewart was one of his first customers when he opened the store.

Through the years, McInroy said his business has seen vehicles get more and more technically advanced, as well as more online sales and commercial-end offerings. His store services a delivery area from Staceyville to Allison.

Big doings are expected heading into 2017, as the store will be getting a big upgrade and a new name. Advance Auto Parts, headquartered out of Roanoke, Va., has purchased Carquest. With more than 70,000 employees across the country now, Advance is the largest retailer of automotive replacement parts and accessories in the U.S “We’ll be changing the floor plan, putting in new shelving, new flooring … a whole makeover,” McInroy said. “It’ll be good.”

Carquest Auto Parts is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, stop in or call 641-228-2705.
