Sarah Murray Joins First Security as Senior Accountant

The First Security Bank & Trust Board of Directors and President/CEO Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer are pleased to announce that Sarah SlettenMurray has joined the First Security team in Charles City as Senior Accountant. Murray will be responsible for assisting management with budgeting, analyzing, and reporting financial information.

Before joining First Security, Murray worked for RSM US LLP in Mason City as a Certified Public Accountant. At RSM, she primarily worked with the financial institution industry team, while also assisting on the manufacturing and small business industry teams. During her time in the public accounting sector, she worked to assist middle-market businesses and their owners with tax compliance and planning needs. In addition, she and her husband have a farm operation west of Charles City.

Murray holds three Bachelor of Science degrees from Iowa State University. She received Bachelor’s degrees in Finance, Agricultural Business, as well as Accounting. She also received a Master of Accounting degree from Iowa State University. “We are excited to have Sarah join First Security Bank,” commented Michael Holdren, EVP, Chief Financial Officer. “Her education and work experience make her a natural fit for her new role.”

When Murray is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her immediate and extended family, including her husband, Devon, and their two-year-old daughter, Marron. She and her family also try to attend as many Iowa State sporting events as possible.
