IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE HIDE COLLECTION

The Floyd County Izaak Walton League will collect deer hides this hunting season. The deer hide box will be placed in City Motor Parts at 610 S. Main St.

in Charles City. Hides will be collected through December. Proceeds are used for Floyd County conservation projects.

HIDES FOR VETERANS COLLECTION

Frederika Locker salts and preserves hides for Elks Lodge #418. Hides are then donated to veterans homes across the country. The leather is used to make a large variety of crafts.

Crafts are sold and the income is used to help pay for veterans’ expenses. Hides may also be donated by calling Elks Lodge #418 at 641-228-1257.

IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE MEETING

Thursday, Dec. 10, 7 p.m.

Floyd County Izaak Walton League will have their monthly meeting Dec. 10. Ike’s meetings are held at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Clark Street in Charles City.

All are invited to attend.

NATURE TALES

Sunday, Jan. 17, 1 p.m.

Children in kindergarten or younger, along with an accompanying adult, are invited to the Fossil and Prairie Center for storytime.
