Debra Hovey

Debra Hovey, 60, of Charles City, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016 at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City, where a lunch will be held. Burial will be held at a later date.

Debra Rae (Jacobs) Hovey, the daughter of Laverne and Juanita (Robison) Jacobs, was born on July 3, 1955 in Charles City. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1974. Debra devoted 38 years of her life working for Kmart in Charles City. She was united in marriage to Tim Hovey on April 17, 1987 in Charles City. Debra enjoyed scrapbooking, plants (African Violets), and collecting resin figurines. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Living family members include her husband, Tim Hovey of Charles City; son, Ryan (Holly) Wright of Laporte, Minn.; two grandchildren: Hunter and Tatiana Wright; two sisters: Linda (Lester) Hobert of Charles City, and Deeann (Bill) Pepper of Boone; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laverne and Juanita Jacobs.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa; 232 2nd Street SE, Mason City, IA 50401.
