Staff report

Homebound church members can feel wrapped up in love after Immaculate Conception Elementary students delivered hand-made blankets across the IC parish recently.

The IC fifth grade class was recently awarded a $250 Project Jack grant from the Iowa Realtors Association, which requires that the funds are used by fifth grade classes to spread kindness. With the help of Sister Diana, IC students made the tie blankets, made from two pieces of fabric tied together at the sides. Students then delivered the blankets to the homes of 12 church members in the Immaculate Conception Parish and shared some songs together.

The Project Jack grant is in memory of Jack Lindaman, a six-year-old who passed away in February 2010 from spinal muscular atrophy.
