The Holiday Train brought a jolt of seasonal spirit to the middle of an otherwise ordinary day for hundreds of Charles City kids.

Performers Terri Clark, Dallas Smith and Kelly Prescott brought familiar holiday pop-country to the mobile stage at Main Street and Grand Avenue.

The CP Holiday Train program started in 1999 and travels across Canada and the U.S. to raise food and donations for local food banks. The U.S. train travels through Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and North Dakota from Nov. 25-Dec. 17.
