Press Staff Report

A man escaped injury Tuesday morning when his pickup truck rolled into Rudd Lake, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook page a photo of the completely submerged truck as well as another photo of the truck being pulled out of the lake.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, James Lines, 67, of Marble Rock, was launching a boat when the 2015 Dodge Ram truck began floating and he lost traction, causing the vehicle to slide backward down the boat ramp into the lake.

Lines was able to safely climb out a window before the vehicle completely sank, the report said.

The truck and trailer were later pulled out of the lake by Scott’s Towing. Estimated damage amount is $20,000.
