Thanksgiving Recipes

Students at the Charles City elementary schools tried out some Thanksgiving recipes on Monday. Third graders Cody Zimmerman and Kristopher Copper at Lincoln looked to get the mixture just right as they helped the rest of their class make about 600 pumpkin bars to share with the rest of the elementary students.

Meanwhile, first-graders at Washington, including Degan Hisel, Prince Boatwright and Legend Armstrong, held their Thanksgiving feast Monday, with turkey and all the fixings, and made Thanksgiving art and their own turkey dessert (pictured) — and then ate it. It appears Hisel ate so much turkey he started flapping his wings like one.
